I’m posting this for my friend Jackson, he doesn’t have any internet or money where he’s staying and needs as much help as he can get.
Last year he came out as a trans male to his religious family and they didn’t accept him at all, he’s spent the last eight months in therapy because his family genuinely believe he needs “professional help”. A few days ago, Jackson told his family that he was going to be seeing a gender therapist to see about starting hormones to further his transition. His family kicked him out and are now refusing to let him collect his things including his medication that he takes for his severe anxiety.
He’s tried talking to his parents, but they keep denying him and continue to misgender him and use his dead name. (Picture posted with permission)
Unfortunately Jackson doesn’t have anywhere to stay, I myself live in a different country so I’m unable to house him. Because of this, he’s staying in a homeless shelter but he needs to be there by 6pm every night to ensure he has a bed.
Due to not taking his medication, he’s dizzy and sick because he’s dropped off them so suddenly.
He doesn’t have money for food or his medication. If anybody can donate to his PayPal to help him out, it would be appreciated. But please, spread this like wildfire it is breaking my heart that he is suffering.
i had the funniest fucking dream i was hanging out with michael jackson and someone asked him what his pronouns were and he said “he/hee!” and i woke up crying
Article 13 is going into it’s final stages of voting.
If this gets through, it will allow many, many companies to abuse and misuse this article to take down as many memes, fan works, and even other independent creators on sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other websites INCLUDING Tumblr.
THE FAIR USE LAW AND SAFEHARBOR LAW WILL NO LONGER APPLY IN THE U.S OR IN OTHER COUNTRIES.
IT HAS ALREADY PASSED IN SEVERAL OTHER COUNTRIES.
WE CANNOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE AWAY WHAT WE BUILT FOR THE INTERNET SO FAR.
So here is what you need to do to drag this article down.
1. Spread the word
I can’t stress this enough. The more attention this gets the more people we can get to take this down.
2. Make your own content
Make your own content on the matter and make sure it is clear to others that Article 13 is bad for every internet user involved.
3. If you live anywhere in Europe, contact your MEPs
Ask them if they approve of the article and why. If they do approve of it, try to convince them in a clear, reasonable, and most sensible way possible that this law is BAD.
The article itself is way to vague about what it’s conveying to its people.
Saying that as long as the use of said internet memes or content is good as long as it’s in “good faith.”
We cannot let some shoddy government tell us what we can and cannot post.
FREE SPEECH IS A HUMAN RIGHT. NOT A PRIVILEGE.
Here’s a video on Article 13 that Film Theory made on the matter. It will explain things better than I can.
THE VIDEO LINKED IS FROM YESTERDAY (24/11 2018) THIS IS ALL FRESH PLEASE SPREAD!
To my fellow ‘mericans that don’t understand Article 13 and why it’s important, watch the video. MatPat breaks is down in a very easy way to understand why it’s important and why it will affect all of us. You might think “naw, I’m not in the EU, doesn’t matter to me” (which is a crappy way of looking at it in the first place) but guess what, it will.
Also, I feel like people are pushing the importance of this to memes, but honestly it goes SO well beyond that.
jane the virgin: portraying a bisexual man in a healthy relationship and slaying biphobes since 2017
It’s really interesting what she says “I can’t give you what a man can.” A lot of gay men avoid relationships with bi men because they worry that they can’t provide what a woman can. People, gay or straight, think that for a bi person the grass is always greener on the other side.
Straight men and lesbians have said the same. It’s insecurity rooted in the notion that bi people have all the options constantly at their fingertips AND are insatiable. We don’t choose a team, we choose a person. A failure to understand this mostly boils down to people not believing bisexuality is real.
